Palisades and Eaton Fire Overflight : January 14, 2025

On January 7, two wildfires burned through neighborhoods in Pacific Palisades and Altadena, becoming the thrid and second most destructive wildfires in California, behind the 2018 Camp Fire which destroyed the town of Paradise.

A week later, from an altitude of 11000 feet, the damaged communities weren't readily apparent, but with a closer look, it was a sobering realization that multiple blocks of what were once homes had been reduced to piles of debris.

It's not obvious, but most of the homes to the left of Rustic Canyon (lower-mid-frame) are destroyed.

The community near Topanga Beach is mostly gone.
