Tucson Trip : February 7-10, 2020

Part 2

February 8: Saguaro National Park

The female owl was in a tree this evening, then flew to a food cache for a snack (bunny ears). The male showed up later.

February 9: Saguaro National Park

Another visit to the owls. For a while it seemed I would miss them tonight, but the female eventually flew in. She started hooting and the male answered from some trees (which I'd already spent 30 minutes looking into), but I couldn't find him.

February 10: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

A return visit to the museum before leaving town. The Ferruginous Hawk flew around a little more this time, and I learned it's the same one that flew during my last visit 14 years ago!

February 10: Tucson to San Diego

A storm was sitting over the direct route home via Yuma, so I went around to the north via Blythe.

Very ominous towards Yuma!

Not so bad towards Blythe

Nice day on top.
