Flight to Alaska Canada : July 18-24, 2016

A planned trip to Alaska was canceled due to forecasts for 2 solid weeks of rain during the time we were to be up there. Having already gotten to Oregon when the decision was made to cancel, and packed for two weeks of travel, paid up customs dues, and equipped with passport, I decided I needed to at least cross the border into Canada...

July 20: Revelstoke - Golden, BC, Canada

Canadian customs was a smooth, simple process. Kelowna was my port of entry, after which I flew to Revelstoke and rented a car to drive up into the Canadian Rockies.

July 21: Athabasca Glacier (Columbia Icefield), AB, Canada

I visited the Columbia Icefield as a kid nearly 30 years ago, so it seemed appropriate to see what it's like now that I can actually remember something about it. The new Glacier Skywalk was quite impressive.

July 23: Revelstoke to Salem flight
